Hurricane Harvey Relief/Support

Reverend Evan has been in contact with ministers in Southeast Texas regarding the flooding and devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey. They have indicated that they are in the need of several items to help and aid in the cleanup effort. We will be collecting these items and transporting them down to the Beaumont/Orange/Port Arthur area as early as Friday of this week. Please bring these things to the office at the church. If you have any questions or would like to help out please contact Rev. Evan.

* Box cutters
* Bottled waters
* Dish washing gloves (large size)
* Dust masks (N95 rated)
* Trash bags (heavy duty)
* Work gloves
* Bug spray

Hurricane Harvey has devastated the coast of Texas and Louisiana.  Below is a letter from the Interim Regional Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in the Southwest articulating what can be done for those affected by Harvey.

Hurricane Assistance

Friends and members of the CCSW,

Many of you are asking: What can we do to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey? The primary way to help is with special gifts to Week of Compassion noting that it is for Hurricane Harvey. However, there is another "hands on" way you can help as well through Church World Service: cleanup buckets. When the rains cease, people will begin the process of cleaning up their property.

We know, at least, one of our ministers has been flooded out. Too early to know how many others are in similar distress. I will be on a conference call later this morning with Week of Compassion as we begin to formulate ways to help with the ongoing disaster.

We will update you as we get more information.

Here is the link for Church World Service regarding Cleanup Buckets.

Peace and grace,

Zena S. McAdams

Interim Regional Minister
