Opportunities to Serve

 
Here is a list of ways you can be involved at First Christian. Contact the church office to sign up as a FCC volunteer!
 
Office Volunteer
Answer phones and staff the front desk throughout the week
Greet/direct during special events
Be part of an on-call list for large mailings
Help with sign ups for ministry events in the Narthex
 
Building and Grounds
Assist with small repairs around the church
Help with larger projects when necessary
Adopt a kitchen, closet or pantry (straighten shelves and drawers)
Adopt a flower bed (keep them weeded and planted)
 
Communication
Assist with bulletins
Mail out printed sermons each week
Fold and stuff Sunday bulletins each week
Assist with the newsletter
 
Congregational Life
Be considered to teach an adult Sunday School class
Be considered to teach our preschool children
Serve as a sponsor for JYF, ChiRho, or CYF
Prepare “care packages” for our college students
 
Fellowship Events
Assist with the Annual Church Picnic
Assist with Fellowship Dinners
Assist with special church events
 
Hospitality/Membership
Serve as a door greeter
Become a part of the Care and Concerns committee
Volunteer to host new members as they join FCC
Plan new member events
 
Media Ministry
Serve on Sunday morning in the 11:16 Disciple Praise service to run sound/powerpoint
     (We will train anyone interested)
 
Music Ministry
Filing in the music library
Help with Children’s Choirs
Sing in the choir or praise band
Play an instrument
 
Worship Ministry
Prepare communion on Sunday mornings for Disciple Praise
Help with snack set up/clean up for Disciple Praise
Assist in setting up chairs for worship in Disciple Praise
Set up/decorate for special worship services
Decorate for Easter services
Decorate and take-down for Advent/Christmas season
Set up poinsettias
Set up worship visuals
Be on the Fine Arts committee
Serve as a wedding coordinator
 
Pastoral Care
Join the Prayer Group (2nd and 4th Tuesday nights)
Flower Ministry (arrange and/or deliver sanctuary flowers to those in the hospital or those who are homebound)
Make phone calls
Send cards
Serve on the Bereavement Committee (providing a meal for the bereaved family)
 
Sports
Softball (adult co-ed, men, youth)
Basketball (men, youth)
Annual Church Golf Tournament
